You didn’t give much info, so I will take a stab at addressing your question. In the hospital we use CK levels for indications of possible myocardial infarction. I don’t know if she was having chest pain prior to hospitalization. I also don’t know how bad her diabetes is, but elevated CK can also be symptomatic of acute renal failure. What it all comes down to; askk your doctor, there are just too many unknowns, and guessing can just confue the issue. Best of luck.
Strenuous exercise, some medications, heart attacks or drinking too much alcohol can increase CK levels. Patients with kidney failure may have high CK levels without having had a heart attack. In rare cases, chronic muscle disease, low thyroid hormone levels, and alcohol abuse can raise CK levels to those seen during a heart attack
Does your wife have any allergies? my daughter has an egg allergy and cannot get the swine flu vaccine as it is cultured on eggs.? Good Luck.
