i have info showing that poor countries had the most cases of bird flu, what is the link?
I know they have bad health care… tahts why there are more deaths, but that has nothing to do with why more of them would catch it, their lack of health care stops them being cured, but has nothing to do with if they catch it.

  1. 1 says:

the fact they don’t have good health care, duh.

  2. God Told me so, To My Face says:

    poor healthcare?

  3. Nathan says:

    because of you

  4. Drew C says:

cause they be eating their neighbors chickens lol. and they are usally dirty and unheigueneic. wash those hands people

  5. dabiznessssssss says:

lack of health care and general cleanliness. basically its spreads easier and they have less resources to treat it.

  6. Babs says:

    Health care, yeah…

We’ve got a lot more than they do.

  7. AnnaMinator says:

lack of health care and sanitation. Birds carry allot of things. Poor countries have less they can do about it.

  8. Kenneth says:

Less affluent countries don’t have the same quality of health care as in other more affluent countries, and therefore are more likely to be afflicted by various diseases and the like. The quality of life and often the proximity of people to animals also has a correlation with more of them being infected with various diseases which been reduced or practically eliminated in countries with the most advanced modern medicine.

  9. Charlotte says:

    Hellooo
They dont have good healthcare and they dont have the money to buy the flu drugs to control the flu, so people suffer greatly from it when they get it.
They also find that its hard to stop other people from getting it as they cant sucessfully isolate people.

  10. yazoooo says:

poor healthcare, communications, hygine & sanitation. Lack of education regarding how disease spreads? … the agricultural nature of LEDC’s ( lower economicaly developed countries ) increases liklihood of animal to human transmition, which is then accelerated into a wave of disease because of the abouve factors. The fact the disease was sourced here means they did not ‘ hear about it on the news ‘ they were not aware of the danger and probably brushed off the first few cases as food poisoning or other such causes. meanwhile the disease had time to spread through human – human transmition

Also, LEDC’s tend to have a large family philosophy so a large and cramped ( dence population ) is obviously going to be perfect for the pathogen.

Quite often the poorer countries are in a warm climate which helps bacteria to multiply.

    hope this helps

  11. Skip says:

The sanitation in those so called 3rd world nations leaves MUCH to be desired, animal feces are routinely in their homes (which are often dirt floored) and other sanitation problems, (human AND animal) exacerbate the problem. This problem is now in America too, with all the uncontrolled illegal immigration from Central America and is going to get worse.

  12. Angela M says:

Poor countries do not have the cracking health facilities that we have. It’s no wonder that they are subjected to many more diseases than we are, without the facility to offer a cure or remedy.. I used to think that our health care system was a bit poor, but I am very glad that we have something that almost guaruantees our survival, without having to pay silly money for the privellidge..

  13. Jess says:

I think its because they live in close quarters like slums, don’t have the best water supply to do normal hand washing. They probably have a poor health to begin with making it easier to catch different diseases and viruses that health people can fight.
