I have a cold and I am going away on Friday (this friday). Whats the best and quickest way to get rid of a cold? I am taking Cold and Flu night and day tablets, also i have sudafed tablets. i dont want to spend loads of money with me going away but i need help fast!! are there any herbal tea’s that could be recommended maybe? I also put Vicks on my pillow at night!!!!
Many thanks for your help this!
Lots and lots of Vitamin C – overdose on it. Orange juice, fresh fruit, the works. It works very well for my boyfriend, and quite well for me – we have both had much reduced “cold” times. The other things you are using are merely to help cope with the symptoms of the cold, they are not actually treating it. Vitamin C boosts your immune system, which is the only thing that can fight off the cold.
Sweat it out you go 4 really hot baths everynight and wear plenty clothes the more you sweat the better.
eat blueberries, fruit, avoid dairy products especially milk as this creates more of a mucus in you nose and chest. drink green tea is great, any herbal tea is good also, lots and lots of water you need to stay well hydrated all the time, even if you dont feel thirsty. fresh fruit will truly help you! have nice long very hot showers and try to get all the (sorry to be yukky) snot and mucus up and out! just rug up quickly when you get out!
plenty of rest
vitamins
drink hot water with honey and lemon in it
keep warm
hope this helps and you enjoy ur holiday xx
what always works for me is a hot cup of green tea or chicken soup is also known to ward off colds… honestlt try this!
Hot water from the kettle, fresh lemon juice and a 2 tea spoons of honey! let it cool down to the right temperture for you. It works wonders I swear by it.
Hope that helps.
Pour boiling water into a bowl and stir vicks into it. Put your head over the bowl and a tea towel over your head to keep the steam on your face. Breathe really deep, get it right into your lungs. It will help clear your nose.
Lots of strawberries, as believe it or not they are actually higher in Vit C than oranges are. Lol.
one of the best things to do is to keep ur duvet on u all nightand just sweat it of ino it sounds horridd but trust me it works x
Drink lots of fluids, NOT SODA! Juice, water, tea. Stay well rested make sure you are getting enough sleep every night, maybe take a nap during the day. Acetaminophen or Tylenol is a fever reducer and pain reliever. Use that to help with any spiking temperatures. Make sure you eat whole healthy foods. No junk food, or fast food. Take medicine for a cough if you have one. A good medicine to take over the counter is Day Quil (during the day obviously) and Night Quil at night. They work really really well. The equate brand is just as good too.
Also make sure you have tissues or something to sneeze or cough in. Seeing as how a cold is a droplet transition you can give it to anyone. The range is about 3 feet. So if you sneeze in someones face that is 3 feet or closer chances are they will get it too. Even if they are further dont take the chance. Use a tissue.
I would also get some hand sanitizer for after you cough and sneeze to kill any germs. And wash your hands frequently.
Just take care of yourself and you should be over it in a couple of days.
