   I was rather lethargic the following day and the site of the injection was red and itchy but after that I didn’t experience anything else.

   Not sure about you (being diabetic), but unless your kids have any underlying health conditions they will probably just have a sore arm for a couple of days.

   There should be no side effects other than maybe a slightly sore arm where the injection was given.

   My friend and her little boy (8 years old) got the shot and experienced soreness and it was hard to lift their arm for a few days because it hurt. I believe it’s an intra-muscular shot, like a booster shot, and it will be sore for a few days. Hence why they normally put it in your arm that’s opposite you write with.

   Well if your kids can’t walk, and their tounges puff up, they may be becoming retarded. (the cheer leader incident).
   The needles may also hurt their arms badly. my friend got the vaccine and lost his arm because of it.

   “Like the seasonal flu shot, the H1N1 vaccine may cause minor side effects:
   — Soreness, redness or swelling where the shot was given
   — Low-grade fever
   — Aches
   — Nausea

   The nasal-spray version of the vaccine contains weakened virus, and side effects may include:
   — Runny nose
   — Wheezing
   — Headache
   — Vomiting
   — Muscle aches
   — Fever
   — Sore throat or cough

   On rare occasions, flu vaccination can cause serious problems, such as severe allergic reactions that include difficulty breathing, hoarseness, wheezing, swelling around the eyes or lips, weakness or a fast heart beat.

   If any unusual condition occurs after vaccination, you should seek immediate medical attention, tell your doctor what happened, the date and time it happened and when the vaccine was given. Ask your doctor, nurse or health department to report the reaction by filing a Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) form. Or you can file this report yourself online at http://www.vaers.hhs.gov. ”

   –Of course, LONG term adverse effects are completely unknown for any one individual.

    The commonest side effect is undoubtedly local soreness, as many as 10% of patients develop this and it can last up to a week.
