Treatment for vasomotor rhinitis related nasal swelling?

I can deal with the runny nose and the irritating feeling in my nose, but I can’t bear looking like Coco the clown. I need that can narrow nasal vessels emphatically. Please help me Yahoo Q&A!

    The primary treatment is simply avoiding the things that trigger your symptoms.

    In some cases, decongestants or a nasal spray containing an antihistamine may help. Corticosteroid nasal sprays may be useful for some forms of vasomotor rhinitis

    If you want to avoid the use of corticosteroids and antihistamines which have side effects and often rebound problems, you might want to try nasal saline irrigation with a neti pot or a similar device. Also, I have found a capsaicin-based nasal spray which works well for me within a few minutes of use. It is a homeopathic type of product which builds effectiveness over many uses and is very safe. The one drawback is that it stings a bit. There have been some legitimate studies on the use of capsaicin for this condition which suggest it can be effecive. You can find it in the major U.S. pharmacy chains.
