both my parents seem to have the cold/flu symptoms.

is there any difference between the length of time you’re ill with swine flu and normal flu?

Basically this isn’t the season for normal flu and it’s almost unheard of in the summer so it probably is swine flu and they need to ring the NHS helpline to get an over the phone diagnosis.

As long as they have no underlying health problems they should be fine x

  2. Nostradamus MacPhearson says:

If your parents are showing symptoms of flu:

Phone your GP or the national hot line…..ASAP

Do not visit the GP or surgery in person

  3. Stacey-Marie J says:

Swine flu affects the lungs at a deeper level, so i’m guessing a harsher cough and maybe a chest infection as well as?

This makes interesting reading and explains some symptoms you get with the h1n1 flu and normal seasonal flu.

You also get diarrhea as it goes to your intestinal tract.

  4. Dani says:

I would go along with the first two posts and call your doctor, or any hotline that can provide you with accurate information on Swine Flu. I’ve never heard of anyone getting flu in the summertime.

  5. Alva C says:

nope..! there really isnt thats the problem!!

you need to ring the gp and u need to get the injection to protect yourself!! pronto!

  6. Rhianna Returns says:

Very little because swine flu is basically flu, but the H1N1 strain.

There is a difference however between a cold and the flu. With a cold you don’t tend to get a high temperature and the cough one gets with a cold is usually loose and ‘phlegmy’. A runny nose is also not a common feature of the flu- but can sometimes happen. The symptoms of the flu tend to last for about 5 days, but the fatigue feeling can last for longer.

If it sounds like your parents have the flu and not a cold then it’s probably swine flu because there is no seasonal flu doing the rounds at the moment. Seasonal flu peaks between December and March.

these are the main swine flu symptoms:
    -diaorreah
    -you wake up feeling ill
    -very high temperature
-muscle aches and cramps especially in stomach area
-chest problems hurts when breathing etc

swine flu is alot different to the normal flu we sometimes catch so if they had it you’d know

What to expect if you have Human Swine Flu

    When to seek medical attention

Watch for signs that the sick person may need further medical attention including
