Is Swine Flu linked with Pigs anyway?

I saw on the Swine Flu game (swinefighter.com) that they had Pigs that you were meant to heal or kill… Why pigs?
Did they have something to do with Swine Flu?

Sorry…I’m just a little behind the flu..

    It comes from animals like most other types of Influenza this one just comes from pigs

    Swine is another word for pigs like cattle for cows. The orginal virus that is now passing onto humans was first in pigs, the flu that pigs had has now adapted so that humans can get it. This is why it is called Swine flu.

    Yes, Swine Flu is linked with Pigs. BUT, I don’t see why everyone is freaking out, just because it says ‘Swine’ Flu everyone is scared, when 1,000′s of people die yearly from regular Flu.

    Swine flu could also be called pig flu because a swine is a pig
    The flu being passed around right now is from pigs which started in Mexico and is spreading world wide

    pigs had it first like bird flu
    swine flu is a mixture of american flu, japanses flu ( could be wrong about that, swine flu and BIRD FLU!

    If the truth was known it came from Zebra,s.
    Crocodiles used to carry it up until 2001.then they were cured of it.
    there is rumour that Bream (a Fish) has been spreading it like wildfire.
    Pigs are totally innocent.I think birds were to blame once back in May
    1928.The most deadly disease going is Hippo flu.
    if this breaks out the country is in real trouble.
    Hippo flu mutates your head slowly so over the course of 6 weeks or
    so you look just like a Hippo from the shoulders up.
    the only cure is to set fire to your penis for 10 seconds and then exstiguish the flames.
