I was just looking on the NHS website: http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/pandemic-flu/Pages/Introduction.aspx
and it says that they think this year all pregnant women should have the seasonal flu vaccine which will also cover H1N1 (swine flu). I get the vaccine every year from tesco anyway but read on their website they don’t give it to pregnant women which was annoying.
hey,
saw a poster up at my docs about the vaccine and it said could all pregnant women book to have it so i was confused and a bit worried when i asked the receptionist she said you only have it if your considered high risk or if your midwife tells you you have to have it for any other reason. I would check with the midwife first hun

Yes. Every year, pregnant women are advised to have the seasonal influenza vaccine. This is because you are at a greater risk of complications as your immunity is naturally suppressed during pregnancy.
The influenza vaccines have been given safely to women for many years. No problems have been observed. Your GP surgery will provide it for you.
