I have had a bad sore throat and cough for the past couple of weeks. I went to the doctor, and she said I had a seriouse case of strep throat. She talked about the symptoms, and I looked strep throat up online, but found nothing about coughing. I was wondering if someone who had strep throat before could tell me if they were coughing a lot. Or even at all.

They did take a test which came back possitive, so I’m quite sure I have strep throat, so do I have a cough on top of it all of is it just a part of strep throat.
I also wanted to know if you catch strep throat, or a cold/sickness that can become strep throat.
85% of all sore throats are viral. The presence of a cough with a sore throat is a marker for a viral infection and specifically against the illness being bacterial. The duration of your cough is also far more suggestive of a viral causality, rather than Strep. If this is the case then antibiotics will have no effect.
My sister had a nurse who kept coughing when she was in labour and the baby was born with strep, which they say was caused by the nurse coughing whilst down that end.
So yes, it does cause coughing.
