because most of the symptoms for these things are your body’s way of dealing with it, like vomiting for instance. however if your immune system isn’t working properly would it take longer for your body to react in the same way. would symptoms appear less because it;s not able to fight it off in the same way? Therefore in food poisoning for instance, would your body still make you vomit if your immune isn’t working???
Actually you have much worse symptoms with a very low white count. Your body uses the wbc’s to fight infection. If theres not enough to kill your infection, you get sicker
If you have a low white blood count you get poorly more quickly and pick up more infections easily and it takes longer to fight the infection you may also need antibioctics
i have severe chronic neutropenia and lymphopenia and yes in theory you should get sicker quicker..but ive had this for 3 years and apart from a few chest infections i havent been ill.i even got through winter without so much as a cold! my heamatologist has no idea why.My last neutrophil count was 0.3 but still no infections.i hope you stay as lucky as me.
