Swine Flu Vaccine Safety

January 10th, 2011 | Flu Symptoms and Signs Scroll Down To Read Answers To The Question

I have just read that the swine flu vaccine is being rushed through safety checks to be ready for september.

Will you be getting your swine flu shot now?

  1. starlight says:

i will because im diabetic and it will be a priority

  2. Edward cullen dazzles me says:

    prob not

  3. Richard M says:

No cause I’ve already had it, and its not as bad as everyone is making it out to be!

  4. Christina C says:

I’m gonna try and get out of it, I hate needles. If the vaccine is being rushed the might be some unknown side effects. But mainly because I hate needles =)

  5. essentiallysolo says:

the way vaccines are made now, it doesn’t really worry me much. It isn’t like you are getting live virus injections, they use the protien coat from the virus to make the vaccines, nothing in the vaccine to hurt you really…whether or not they are effective, who knows, but they certainly aren’t going to hurt you any.

  6. emily says:

nope. i haven’t had a shot since i was a year and a half old (i had bad reactions to them), and i have been just fine. i’ve never had the flu or anything else that they vaccinate (except for chicken pox but that was normal back then).

  7. xxkerry18xx says:

the people most at risk will be a priority such as the young and the old, or people with medical illnesses, as people who are generally in good health are less likely to get swine flu to badly.
Although eventually everyone will be vacinated.

  8. Buddha says:

Yes, I’ll be the first in the queue. I have had lymph glands removed from each underarm, after having breast cancer. This compromises my immune system. I also now have a serious lung disease. So I really must have it.

  9. x-MissPiggy-x says:

    dno

  10. spartaworld.combat says:

Craig, do you know what a vaccination consist of, what it is made up from? It is supposed to be dead virus material (swine flu) that forces the immune system to fight what it believes are live viruses. What happens if some live virus are mixed in the vaccine. This has happened with regular flu vaccine. This rushing through safety controls is not acceptable and should have been done a year ago everywhere. No, I am not taking it until they (AMA) can tell us where the flu comes from and how we contact it.

  11. Happylittleme says:

Yes – when the vaccine is ready!!

A lot of research has gone into developing this vaccine to ensure it covers Influenza A H1N1 virus. We are lucky in UK to be offered this opportunity free – You would be a fool not to get the vaccine!

  12. Serendipity says:

Fast-tracked doesn’t mean it’s swept off the shelves, into the shopping cart and straight to the till! This virus wasn’t known a few months ago, it takes months to grow and develop the vaccine – what do you folks want? – no vaccine?!

Most drugs take years to be licensed – I would take fast-tracked as accelerating the long paperwork/legal delays, testing the similar (mock-up) vaccine as described and getting the protection we need out there ASAP.

  13. Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ Bethany Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ TTC #1 says:

Nope.. hopefully I’ll be pregnant :P

Plus Swine flu doesn’t bother me…

  14. faulty_barbie_doll says:

    ITS JUST THE FLU!

Millions of people die from the flu every year, this is no different.

Yes lots of people are going to get it when it gets cold, but lots of people are also going to get flu when it gets cold.

You only need to worry if you have underlying medical issues and / or are immunosupressed.

There is no need to be vaccinated, if you’re fit and healthy you’ll bounce back.

  15. Rhianna Returns says:

It will still go through standard safety checks. The vaccine isn’t going to be available till at least the end of August and logistically speaking it’s going to take a great deal or organisation. The vaccine will first be offered to those with known medical risk factors, young children and those over the age of 65.

Front line health care workers will also be vaccinated first.

  16. Celticchick says:

Not sure yet, I already have had swine flu, and it wasnt as bad as everyone makes out, in fact I have been sicker with the common cold.

I am asthmatic, so will probably be entitled to it, but I think it might be a waste of time since I have had it and my body has built the antibodies to fight it,
