Could I be having pregnancy symptoms?

My husband and I have decided to try for a baby. I have been on the pill 10 years and came off it on 21st Jan and had a bleed as normal. We have been trying for a baby since and I now feel very sick in the afternoons and have pain in my breats. Could this be symptoms of pregnancy or just coming off the pill?

  1. smartangel says:

yes, you can. I knew that I was pregnant three days after my ovulation.

  2. Nathan G says:

Once you stop the pill it’s possible to ovulate and then to get pregnant, though in most women it takes sevral months.
You could be pregnant, though is less likely unless a pregnancy test is positive.

Yes you could be pregnant, but equally your body could just be adjusting to life without the pill. I’d give it a few days yet, maybe a week and see how you feel after that.

    Good luck

If the last pill you took was on the 21st – you likely ovulated (if things were back to normal right away – which is possible) on the 4th of February. You would not be able to test this early, but it’s slightly possible to be having some symptoms at this point. Wait until the 18th and take a HPT. I was also on the pill for a very long time – went off in Aug 2004. Periods were very irregular and a long time apart. One in August, one in November….I got pregnant mid January. If your period does not come this time and you’re very irregular, don’t be surprise and just have lots and lots of sex – at least every other day to ensure a good chance of conceiving. Consider buying the ovulation test kits that are about 30 ‘sticks’ for dipping into a small reusable cup of urine (don’t use the first morning’s elimination) – test twice a day and when you get a positive – have sex a couple times a day for about 4 – 5 days. Good Luck!

It is possible to feel pregnancy symptoms. But you also could be feeling the change in hormones in your body from being off the birth control. At this point it is kind of up in the air. I would give in a week and try to take a HPT.

    Good luck!
