How to know that you are completely cured after treatment of swine flu?

January 3rd, 2011 | Flu Symptoms and Signs Scroll Down To Read Answers To The Question

I am undergoing Tamiflu medicine for 3 days and 2 days more dose is remaining. My health has improved in last 2 days but I wonder how can I be sure 100 % that I do not have any virus after 5 days or that people around me are safe and cannot get affected by me?

  1. libbyami says:

    you live to worry

  2. Dr Frank says:

I am afraid Tamiflu is not a treatment for flu though it does marginally shorten the illness and reduce symptoms. We still mainly rely on our own body defences to overcome the condition. In general the flu virus will have cleared from most otherwise healthy individuals within 5 days anyway.

Good news a vaccine is on the way and should be available by the autumn to provide a preventative, however it is not clear how many doses will become available initially and who will have priority for the vaccine.
