How long does it take a torn calf muscle to heal?

Hi I tore my calf muscle two weeks ago, I was in work when it happened and I knew it was bad as I heard it pop/ snap.
I went to the company doctor and I was sent to a private hospital. The doctor there told me to stay off it and gave me a supply of anti inflammatory pills and put a constrictor bandage on my leg.
I went back a week later and he’s sent me for rehab (ultrasound and electrode treatment). My leg is till very sore and I can’t put my heel on the ground or completely extend my leg.I can’t put any pressure on my leg or support my weight.
How long does this type of injury need to heal and to walk without the aid of crutches? The doctor reckons two weeks is enough but the physio says between 5 to 8 weeks. Also the doctor is who signs my sick note.

What is the norm regarding recuperation as the doctor says he can’t really say bu thinks two weeks is enough. ? I don’t want to damage my leg more by placing strain on it or causing any future problems.

no i think doctor is wrong and physio is right, as it can take ages , to heal id say more like 6 weeks, and you must continue to rest it, you are right if you , start using it too soon it will put you way back , take time here you will know when it has healed
