January 18th, 2011 | Flu Symptoms and Signs Scroll Down To Read Answers To The Question

Around 600 people a year in the UK alone die from seasonal flu. Since October 2010, 39 people in the UK have died from swine flu. I’ve read about the symptoms and they seem to be the same as normal flu. So, what’s the real difference?

  1. Justin says:

well from what i could remember, the difficulty on trying to find a vaccine, and the possible devastation it would have if we couldnt create one. *edit* forgot to put this in it was two different flus combined

  2. Ema says:

There are many different strains of the flu. Regular influenza, bird flu, H1N1, and many many more that can infect animals. The symptoms are similar because they are caused by a virus. The main difference is the swine flu is a different strain (stronger), and the symptoms last longer than the regular flu. Also, people experience more sever symptoms with the swine flu.

  3. Confused says:

Flu is flu . swine bird , monkey …. its just a flu , its caused by the same virus ,just the virus is slightly mutated or if you like – evolved. IT causes same symptoms as its pretty much the same thing , its just your body is not used to it . Like if you get sick with swine flu , the chances of you gettin swine flu again are very small , unless for some reason your immune system goes bust or swine flu evolves.
The Goverment tried making money buy blowing the whole Swine flu thing out of proportion. Swine flu has been around for years, its just the fact that it evolved that really made more people get sick and caused more complications that lead to death. Flu is not a Dangerous virus as long as you don’t ignore it . You get flu, you drink paracetamol and teas for 3-5 days you stay in bed and you’ll be ok.
