my 2 year son has been called for his. he is healthy and has no medical conditions, and i’m not sure wether to take him to have it.
i haven’t heard anything to negative about it, but im still uneasy about it. he has had all his other immunisations.
is it still that wide spread and not just making the news now? i know they have stopped swabbing for it, and anyone with symptoms vaguely flu like are being given tamiflu.
have your children had it and if so did they have any side effects etc?
My son is 4 – and I would think twice before letting him have it. There have not been enough tests on the long term effect so I am very wary. It may just be me being an over cautious mother but I am not sure Swine flu (at the moment) is a big threat especially for a healthy child. Ultimately, the decision is yours and no one else. Try looking at both sides before making it.
my oldest had the h1n1 and the flu shot the same day and he has been fine!
Both my children had the vaccine about 2 months ago…i have a 4 year old and a one year old. There were no side effects from the vaccine itself, but there was a little girl at their day care who hadnt gotten the vaccine who ended up with swine flu. It had only been a week or so since my kids got the shot and they both ended up with a mild version of the flu. Apparently it takes 2-4 weeks for any child to build up the proper immunity to fight the flu…so it is still possible for your little one to get a mild form of the swine flu in the time it takes her to build the antibodies she needs to fight it.
Bottom line is to use your own discretion on whether to vaccinate or not…although I got it for my kids, I do know many who did not. Some of their kids ended up with the flu, which by the way is really not as bad as everyone makes it out to be, and some kids who didnt get the shot have managed to avoid it altogether. Good luck
my daughter had it cause she comes under high risk with having severe childhood asthma she is nearly 3 my daughter had a sore arm and was abit feverish for a day or so but just gave her calpol and she was fine to get 2nd lot on 7th jan
Don’t have it done , swine flu is very mild and its just been publicly stated that the average duration of this illness is less than 3 days. Its not worth pumping a load of chemicals into your son just for this. Your son needs to develop the odd cold and flu so that his immune system functions properly , that’s why older people are much more immune to flus etc.
Swine flu is on the decline . if your son cannot handle 3 days of flu then how will he ever survive into his teens.
The children of Obama have NOT been vaccinated.
The head of the World Health Organisation Margaret Chan has NOT been vaccinated, this should tell you something.
My children are totally un vaccinated for anything and are in far better health than many of their classmates.
If he is healthy then don’t put unhealthy things in him.
