Can My Baby Be Around Someone Who’s Had A Live Flu Vaccine?

December 29th, 2009

My husband is in the Army and they made him get a live flu vaccine this morning. Our 6 month old has had the 1st round of the inactive flu vaccine already, but they told him to stay away from her for 24 hours. I called her pediatrician and they said he’s ok so long as he washes his hands a lot. Who’s right?

Can Someone With An Egg Allergy Get The H1n1 Vaccine?

October 21st, 2009

I’m wondering because my sister has diabetes and therefore is in a high-risk group or whatever and she’s also in the age range they highly reccommend getting the vaccine. Well, she can’t get the regular flu shot because it contains eggs or is made with/in eggs or something like that and she has a mild egg allergy. Is the H1N1 vaccine the same? Or should she be able to get it just fine? Thank you all!

How Likely Is It That Someone In My Office Will Catch Swine Flu?

September 30th, 2009

My boss says someone will. There are about 10 people in my office. I live in Northern Manitoba, Canada. There haven’t been many cases of swine flu in my city but in some aboriginal reserves there have been and some of those people are going to be coming here for medical treatment.
How likely is it that someone from my office will catch the swine flu? Will we all be oinking in no time?
