My husband is in the Army and they made him get a live flu vaccine this morning. Our 6 month old has had the 1st round of the inactive flu vaccine already, but they told him to stay away from her for 24 hours. I called her pediatrician and they said he’s ok so long as he washes his hands a lot. Who’s right?

October 30th, 2009I’m 38 weeks and so far i was doing excelent. I took no medications during this pregnancy except my vitamins. I eat healty, exercise and did all the right things. And now with only two weeks to go it HIT me with a bad cold/flu. Is been 3 days since I saw my doctor, at that time I only had a sore throat and took some halls menthol, but now I have stuffy nose, burning eyes, bit of headake, temperature comes and goes(like hot flashes) and sore muscles. I will see my doctor in 4 days.
Until now I was going to the pool to swim and stretch in the warm water for an 1.30-2h/day, and this makes me feel so good.
What I want to know is if my cold, as long is just mild can harm my baby if I l do not take any medication, instead just get some natural remedy, honey, lemon and also continue my daily swiming?
I can handle it well for my self and don’t feel the need of bed restriction, however I do not know how it will affect my baby if I push myself to just hang in there.
Any sugestions?

The doctor told us not to keep feeding him with the medincine but rather the natural process. But as a worried parent, I would like to explore any natural remedy such as vegetables or fruits that he can take to get well soon.

September 5th, 2009for Christmas day we had some friends round and their daughter had a cough. now my hubby, my daughter and i have it. i had the symptoms 1st but have gotten through the worse and i am getting better. but my daughter looks very pale and when she gets agitated she starts to have coughing fits. i give her water when she starts and i’m giving her calpol every four hours. she is eating normally so that is not concerning me but this cough has been bad that it has made her throw up once today and it doesn’t seem to be getting better. i don’t know whether to go to the docs or not as i could potentially make her worse as this cold and flu is getting worse around the UK and people are actually catching it by going to the docs.is there any herbal remedies i could try to ease her throat?
