How Many Of You Believe Swine Flu Vaccine Will Never Come?

December 23rd, 2009 by flufacts Leave a reply »

I highly doubt the swine flu vaccine will ever be available to the general public. First they state the vaccine will be in October. Lie. Now they say the vaccine will be available in November. Not likely to happen.
Will only a very select few ever get the vaccine (such as hospital workers)?
I personally think the vaccine will not be availabe to anyone this year or the next. Why do you think this is?

Well, I’m a health worker and I got my jab today. In pandemic planning we learned that about 30% of health workers would be sick and unavailable to vaccinate, so it is important that we stay healthy.
I think you will get your vaccine, probably in December. In the meantime, stay away from people you know are sick, wash your hands and cover your cough to protect others. If you get high fever and cough, go to your doctor for a Tamiflu (antiviral) prescription.
If you are in a risk category, i.e. pregnant or have underlying health conditions, go to your doctor for the vaccine.
    Best wishes, Odile

What are you talking about? My friend got the swine flu vaccine two days ago.
It takes time to make the vaccine– about 6 months– and the vaccine makers aren’t equipped to make the amount that’s needed all at once, in addition to the flu vaccines they make every year. As a result, at first there won’t be enough for everyone to have it. The “at-risk” groups are the ones to get it first: children from 6 months- 25 years; people with certain physical conditions; people who work with infants under the age of 6 months; and pregnant women.

They are giving the vaccine out here in Michigan but, to certain people only. Young people pre school age, then young people school age, then health workers and hospital workers and then food handlers. Senior citizens are at the back of the line of course and if like me, have asthma and emphysema, your out in the cold.

Take Cod Liver oil- in the 1920s 1 million children died of measles worldwide. English parents spontaneously began to give their kids cod liver oil for no apparent reason only it was a fashion. A few years ago statistics on deaths from measles noticed a huge drop in the UK in the late 1920s that correlated with the cod liver oil health fad. It may have immunoprotective properties I suspect so why not try it.
I think you’ll get the vaccine in January 2010 as this is what they’re telling us over here in Ireland. Its long way away I agree.

we are having the same problem in caloifornia we have gotten some of the vaccines but not many, today in fresmo they were giving free swine flu vaccines, but cut the line off because they claimed that people would be waiting in line for too long, i personally think its because they didnt have much of the vaccine, hopefully the govt, will hurry up and get more out to the general public.

It’s available right now for ‘High Risk’ Groups
    Teachers are getting the Vaccine.
Since you’re 31, yes, you can get the vaccine. The cut off age is 49, I cannot get it as I’m 52, and I’m not Health Care or Teacher, or any other High Risk Group.

what do you mean its available now. its not available in a large ammount but the only reason that is, is because they are just trying to get people lined up around corners to try and get theirs before it runs out, but they wont run out. its a buisness tactic they are using to gain a larger margin of profit. but screw that vaccine. i would not ever inject myself with deadly compunds such as squalene or thimerosal.

the clinic near my home just had 2000 vaccines delivered to them. It took a day and a half for them to be all used up. I had my vaccine on Monday, this is Thursday and no side effects. Drug stores are offering these vaccines as well. I live in California, am 65. with COPD, so I do not understand why anyone would say the elderly, the sick won’t get the vaccine.

Air Force Gen. Gene Renuart also told The Associated Press that as many as 400 troops are ready to go to five regional headquarters around the country to assist federal health and emergency management officials if needed as the flu season heats up.
“Because I can compel people to get the shots, (emphasis added) larger numbers will have the vaccine,” said Renuart, commander of U.S. Northern Command. “They will, as a percentage of the population, be vaccinated more rapidly than many of us. So we may see some objective results, good or not, of the vaccinations.”

While you are waiting for the vaccine for all the reasons it is or not available. Try these prevention suggestions from a doctor who is head of the Nuclear Medicine Department and also a specialist Doctor of Thyroid conditions. He is suggesting these simple steps to prevent and stop proliferation of the H1N1/Swine flu viruses and also says that it is just as good as the vaccine. He says since the only portals of entry into your body are of the nose, throat and mouth that these simple steps will prevent the proliferation of the swine flu/H1N1. I have been doing this method of prevention ever since I read about it and feel very confident about it. Gargle at least twice a day with warm salt water. Cleanse your nasal passages at least once a day with warm salt water and you can use Q-tips dipped into the warm salt water solution. Wash your hands very frequently and keep them clean and do not touch your face except only to feed yourself. Drink as much warm water as you possibly can and a lot of other fluids to cleanse your tongue and pass it on through to the throat to act as Gargling except in the reverse direction and after it reaches the stomach it cannot survive and cannot proliferate and cannot do you any further harm. Take Vitamin C supplements with Zinc to insure that it absorbs faster into your body and eat a lot of Vitamin C enriched foods to help build and boost your immunity system and protect you better. I thought it was a great method and simple to do and get into the habit of doing these steps everyday. I have felt great and really think it is a better thing to do while waiting for the vaccine that I intend not to get because this seems to be a much better habit to live by. I hope this has helped you too. Good Luck.
