might as well coz in the end its gonna save lives and it doesnt harm them in any way (exept for like 5 mins of whining about their arm)
no, because i think swine flu has been MAJORLY over diagnosed, ppl are being told its swine flu, as they have 3 flu symptoms. if the government was still testing every1 and we had more accurate numbers then if it was high yes, but as it is every1 is being diagnosed with it, no.
for example last yr (height of outbreak) my son got sick very quickly (he was 2 and half and had 4 swine flu symptoms) foned the doctor, who diagnosed swine flu, got the tamiflu, but my son was asleep and we decided not to wake him, the next day he was fine.
too many people are being diagnosed for too varied a symptoms
no,make a good research before you decide.there are already lots of side effects appearing ,they are just not being advertised on tv .Just make sure that what you decide is a informed decision and that the pros are better than the cons
Absolutely yes! Whilst the vaccine is only effective in 80% of cases it is absolutely necessary. Hospitals can test to see if someone definately has Swine Flu, but this takes a day or 2. It isn’t ‘overdiagnosed’. I am sorry but if a child is showing symptoms of Swine Flu it is better to start giving Tamiflu before their respiratory system is comprimised or they start getting pyrexia induced seizures. If the tests come back all clear thats a bonus. I know that all drugs have side effects, but the potential to stop an illness that does KILL outweighs that everytime. The Dr’s that are prescribing these drugs are not kids that have done a 2 year NVQ at college. They are highly trained professionals that have trained for 6 years and then completed a further 2 foundation years in practice. I think they may know better.
This is justmy opinion and you should make up your own mind, but if it were my child they would 100% get the vaccine.
I thought all under 5′s were, but appears that it’s only in certain parts of the UK, my daughter is 3 and had the Swine flu jab last Autumn. I do think that the swine flu jab should be available to all children under 10, but apparently under 5′s are more at risk of other complications than older children.
I don’t think there is a need for under 5′s to have the ‘flu jab’ ie not the swine flu version, as it is very rare for ‘normal’ flu to cause deaths (unless the child has other illness).
EDIT – my daughter had no adverse affects with this jab (unlike when she had MMR & Meningitus, where she had bruised and swelling in her arm for a week afterwards)
