So, my wee boy who’s 16 months old has now been called twice for the vaccination but both times he’s been ill in the week leading up to the proposed jab. But also I’ve felt anxious about it because I’m not sure of the safety of it and also it seems like an ‘optional’ one. I didn’t feel worried about any of his other immunisations including the MMR. My Health Visitor says that this Friday is my last chance to get the shot because they’re not doing it in this area after that – but my son still has a high temperature and a terrible cold. Should I just get on and get it done this Friday or do you think I should hold off on this one? I’m not sure it’s been through clinical trials in infants. Or am I just listening to scaremongering?
My little monster had it. Our doctor is a family friend with young children of her own and she had them done – so I trust her.
My Baby will not be having the vaccination. If you wouldn’t give your baby the normal flu jab then there is no reason why you should give them the swine flu jab, even more reason not to give it actually because it has not be tested as much as it should and babies under a year are the first generation to have it – who’s to say in years to come they won’t have something wrong with them like all those who took the anti sickness drugs all them years ago. It is totally up to personal choice and i respect all those who do get there babies vaccinated but i wouldn’t.
I feel anxious about the need for it, not about the vaccine itself.
But if your son is still ill when they are vaccinating, I wouldn’t take him. Vaccines are always a question of doing the least risky thing. It’s considered less risky to vaccinate a child under 5 than to not vaccinate…but a _sick_ child under 5? I’d think that would tip the balance the other way.
No, it hasn’t been through clinical trials in infants. No annual flu vaccine ever does. There simply isn’t time. Vaccine trials last for years, and they have a timeframe of a few months to get the things out in time to be useful. The base vaccine has been trialled, just as for the annual flu vaccine.
What I find interesting is that the inventor of the vaccine wouldn’t get it.
I flat out refused to get myself or my kids done. I will not be putting that poison into us. The ingredients are incredibly sketchy. Not enough testing and guess what? None of us have gotten sick this winter, much less getting the swine flu.
I know a girl who got her girls done, and they have been so sick off and on for months.
I will not vaccinate my kids against the Swine Flu and really whats the point? That flu has come and gone. And millions of people rushed out to get vaccinated..and for what?
I hate the idea that the Government just used everyone like Guinea pigs.
And scared the crap out of them as well.
my little girls been called for hers and im not sure what to do either
Me and my daughter both had the vaccination back in october. I’m not going to tell people to get it or not, its a personal choice. But deffinetly do not get hime the vaccine while he is sick, I would just hold off.
I’ve read all on it, and decided not to give it to our little one. I choose to be skeptical of what the “experts” call safe.
i wouldnt do it.
it isnt really necessary
You have to do what feels right to you … I was called for mine while i was pregnant and refused since I know from working in healthcare that there are two vaccines one which has been throughly tested and one that has not and since i would not get a choice in which one i had i refused. Ive not even had a cold so far … really dont think swine flu is as big a deal as they make out especially now they know what it is n how to treat it!
my daughter was called for hers in january but i decided against it, she was called again this month and i decided to let her have it,she was fine with it and displayed no side effects, its personal choice although i was sure i didnt want her getting it but i ended up stuck in bed with the flu and that sold it to me
