I should have already gotten my flu vaccine but the first time I went to the allergist, they were out of it and the second time, I was sick. I hate going all the way down there for that, but I’ll regret it if I get the flu.
Its all a big government conspiracy. The vaccine will render you incapable of independent thought. Do not get the vaccine it is in fact a mind control drug!!
I’ve had both shots done for several years now..Last year was the first to received the one shot with both in it. Everybody should get their flu shots for their own safely ..I only thing I don’t like is when the day after your shot your arm feel like someone sock you..=)
I never bother with flu shots because I never get the flu. I take care of my health.
I do find it interesting that my family members who do get the flu shot get sick anyway.
I got a flu shot this year. This was my first time. My wife is a nurse and has been suggesting for a while that I do. So i did.
No….I have watched enough medical mismanagement that I basically distrust all of that. I KNOW that probably makes me a stupid old ignorant git in the eyes of some, but that is how I feel.
What I am very careful to do is stay out of stores and closed in places as much as possible when there is ‘flu going around my city. What I am very about is washing my hands frequently and keeping wipes with me at all times during the winter time. I will even keep my winter gloves on to open/close store doors, handle grocery carts, etc…
I watch my health carefully, take vitamins, exercise regularly….and believe that the same way a healthy plant is able to resist fungus, disease and pest damage better than a puny one…..the same basic systems engineered inside us do the same thing if we keep ourselves healthy.
Mainly, I stay away from sick people who have something contagious. The worst illnesses some of my friends have had was to volunteer to stay with sick children….and then they nearly died themselves from what they caught from the kids.
When one of my children was still having a struggle to get himself established….he and his wife were both trying to work to afford to buy a house…but had two small children. When they asked me to babysit so they could go to work when one of the children were sick….I told them NO….but I would give them the money one would have made at work so that one could stay home.
Of course, I kept the kids when they had things like booboos and stuff that was not contagious….but it is stupid for someone at my age to risk getting flu or pneumonia because a daughter-in-law wants to save a day’s pay.
I am a veteran and get the shots for free therefore l try to get them every year.
I almost didn’t, then did. Had no ill effects. Was aware of the risk, but not aware of these 830-odd intensive care cases, of which some had it. Bronchial and heart disadvantages here, so I took the risk. So far not an intensive care resident. Was months ago. Just a little warmth and discomfort at the site a couple days.
Very wary at becoming a guinea pig.
I’m not convinced.
I’ve never gotten the flu shot and have had no big problems with the flu. My youngest daughter gets the flu shot because she has RA and her immune system is low. I understand that but, I just think that the flu shot, when taken yearly can reduce your immune system. I don’t know, it’s just a thought.
Never get the flu shot and never get the h1n1 . I think there are other safer ways to protect yourself from illnesses.
I guess I’m distrustful. I don’t know which is worse, the flu or the shot? I’m more afraid of living too long then i am of getting the flu.
My missus is always going on to me about getting the “flu jab”. I can not understand why, because each time she has this injection it appears to make her ill.
I did this year as I have for several years. I haven’t had the flu, maybe I wouldn’t have had it anyway, who knows? No ill effects.
@ Mike, that is pretty far out! I am still in control of my own mind and will continue to be!
I never bother with them.
I get one every year.
I trust my doctor and the investigation he has done before recommending vaccines to his patients. I got the flu/h1n1 vaccine and the pneumonia shot as well.
I normally don’t get one. I think I may have only had about 3 in my adult years.
You’ve read the article incorrectly. It makes no claims of “super immunity” from this years vaccine. It actually says that people (the 9 that they studied) who were infected with the swine flu last year developed antibodies that are capable of fighting off multiple strains of the flu, as opposed to just specific antibodies for specific strains. They hope to use this to create a more potent vaccine in the future.
There is nothing unethical being done here.
